How can I pay my rent?

Direct Debit

If you have a bank account, you can set up a Direct Debit and your bank will pay your rent directly to us every month.  You can get a Direct Debit form from any Housing Hartlepool office.  Payments made this way will register on your account the day after we receive the payment from your bank.

You can choose to pay direct debit either weekly (each Thursday) or monthly (on or around 3rd or 15th of each month).

Standing Order

If you have a bank account you could pay by standing order.  This is similar to Direct Debit, but involves you instructing the bank to pay your rent to us either weekly, fortnightly or monthly.  Contact your local Housing Hartlepool office if you would like to set up a standing order.  Payments made in this way will register on your rent account the day after we receive the payment from the bank.

Housing Hartlepool Rent Payment Card

You pay your rent using your Payment Card at all Post Offices and shops and garages displaying the Payzone, Paypoint and EPay signs.  These outlets are usually open outside normal office hours.  Use the link for a list of these outlets in Hartlepool allpay outlets

Office Payments / Payments By Post

Although it is possible to make payment at our offices using cash,  we recommend this is the exception rather than the rule and would advise office payments are generally made by prior arrangement.

Payments can be made by post using a cheque or postal order. Payments should be made payable to 'Housing Hartlepool'. Post dated cheques will not be accepted. You should ensure you write your name and address and card number on the back to ensure we know what account to credit.

Both these payment methods can be slow, inconvenient and cumbersome, we recommend direct debit or allpay payment cards to be more convenient.
