About Your Neighbourhood
Housing Hartlepool's dedicated Neighbourhood team was set up in January 2007 following a review of services.
The Neighbourhood Officers visit their estates on a weekly basis. To find out who your dedicated Neighbourhood Officer for your area is click here
The Officers carry out 12 weekly inspections of their estates, which are advertised and we encourage residents to join in.
Part of the role of the Neighbourhood Officer is to ensure the environment is clean and tidy, not just our homes and we ensure that graffiti is reported to be removed (offensive the same day, non offensive within 28 working days). Abandoned vehicles on our open spaces are removed within one day of being notified. Flytipping from our land is removed within 24 working hours of being reported.
The Officers work in partnership with HBC, the Police and Fire Brigade and other agencies to promote sustainability within communities.
The Neighbourhoods Team also regularly inspect our communal blocks of flats to ensure they are cleaned correctly and the gardens are maintained and every 8 weeks a formal inspection takes place and we encourage residents of those blocks to join us and to find out the dates of forthcoming inspections click here
We have, by working in partnership with some of our residents, developed a Garden Standard to be used as a guide for both Officers and residents to adhere to. To view this standard click here
The officers visit all new tenants of HH within the first 2 weeks from their tenancy commencing and at this visit they promote our services, remind tenants of their rights and responsibilities and assist with any support required.
We also offer a concessionary garden scheme by working in partnership with Deerness Fencing & Landscaping for our elderly residents and those with disabilities who cannot manage to maintain their gardens. To view our leaflet, click here
