Published: Friday 29th May 2009
An event which took place in The Jutland Road area which was part of a National Keep Britain Tidy campaign
The event took place on the 11th of May in the Jutland Road area and was organised as part of a National Keep Britain Tidy campaign. Housing Hartlepool staff, Janis Ledger, Sue Christie and Ken Cooper all attended to lend a hand with tasks such as planting and litterpicking.
The Big Tidy involved local residents, community groups and schools. Housing Hartlepool gave their time to assist in the replanting of the garden at the Jutland Road community centre and the kids painted garden gnomes which were placed in the planting beds, together with new plants.
The Big Tidys take place during the Spring and in Autumn and are funded by Pride in Hartlepool.
The event was attended by Councillor Ann Marshall and newly elected Councillor Christopher Ackers-Belcher for the Rossmere Ward.
